Not all stories ​begin with once ​upon a time.

In Memphis, we have communities of color that ​are struggling. With the rising prices of groceries, ​gas, rent, mortgages, and utilities, even the ​middle class is beginning to sink below the ​poverty line. With that being said, parents are ​working longer hours or working multiple jobs to ​make ends meet. If we click on the news, crime ​is being committed mostly by adolescents, ​especially in the warmer months.

It Takes a Village Inc. is committed to getting ​these kids out of the streets and into ​camps/programs they are interested in. We are ​also committed to funding the needs of foster ​children in the community and committed to ​keeping the children that are being released from ​the Juvenile Detention Center from becoming ​repeat offenders.

Community FAMILY Baby Shower

There will be providers of color ​(Family Medicine doctor, ​Occupational Therapist (specializes in ​children with special needs), Dentist, ​and more) coming to speak to the ​guests in attendance about various ​topics in addition to a Q&A following. ​There will also be informational ​booths for the everyone in the family. ​Everyone will walk away will ​something!

Every person registered through ​Eventbrite will receive a raffle ticket ​for door prizes throughout the event.

Summer of 2024, It Takes a Village is ​starting the Teen R.I.S.E. program. ​There will be a series to teach teens ​about their health, oral care, financial ​literacy, as well as learning about ​natural herbs during an all natural ​painting class.
