It Takes a Village, Inc.
Created to improve the social outcomes for our black and brown children in the City of Memphis by educating them on their health, oral care, financial literacy, as well as different careers and trades.
Not all stories begin with once upon a time.
In Memphis, we have communities of color that are struggling. With the rising prices of groceries, gas, rent, mortgages, and utilities, even the middle class is beginning to sink below the poverty line. With that being said, parents are working longer hours or working multiple jobs to make ends meet. If we click on the news, crime is being committed mostly by adolescents, especially in the warmer months.
It Takes a Village Inc. is committed to getting these kids out of the streets and into camps/programs they are interested in. We are also committed to funding the needs of foster children in the community and committed to keeping the children that are being released from the Juvenile Detention Center from becoming repeat offenders.

About Saundra P.
I'm passionate about giving children of color their best economic advantages. This nonprofit is named It Takes a Village, for a reason. Back in the day, the entire neighborhood looked after children, but sometime between here and there that has changed and THAT needs to change.
So let's do it together!
